so this was the view of our open space on the way to church yesterday morning….made me want to hop out of the car and go running.  and if you know me, i do NOT LIKE running.

so after church, we grabbed chipotle and headed to the top of the open space for a picnic. it was a bit chilly, so we settled for looking at the cows over the fence and tyson’s best cow impersonation. even though i had the wrong lens on….can you see the baby cow eating from it’s momma?? i thought that was totally fitting for mother’s day! so then we packed up, said goodbye to the cows and headed home for an indoor picnic.

i am not great at step by step instruction because improvise should be my middle name, but hopefully the pictures speak for themselves!

in comes my friend kandis.  last summer we did a shoot of her kids at a house where they take horse riding lessons.  you may have seen a picture of a little girl feeding a horse a peppermint scrolling through the top bar of my blog.  anyway, patti, who runs the stables, had mentioned some horse troughs, and the light bulb went off.  i told her that if she ever had any troughs that were rotting through the bottom, i would be more than happy to take them off her hands.  so i asked kandis early spring, and patti had two of them for me!  she was going to have the metal scrappers come pick them up…..no!!!!!!!  so i grabbed dad’s truck and levi and i went and got them.

so now they’ve been sitting upside side down in my side yard for a couple months, and somehow i talked my wonderful dad into coming over for a day and bringing a load of dirt in his trailer.  he leveled out the dirt under my landscaping rocks and then set the troughs and we moved the rocks back up and around them.  one wheelbarrow at a time, we filled them up with yummy dirt and then it went the plants.  i’m so in love!!!

oh, and i filled the troughs in the bottom with leftover packing peanuts from my beanbag project, but note to self.  if you put the peanuts in and then the wind kicks up, all the peanuts will go flying into your neighbors yard, so you’ll have to go peanut hunting.  so put a blanket on top to prevent flying peanuts.  noted for next time.

so i’m here to give you a winter park click class update.  I NEED MORE PEOPLE!!  i have one fabulous lady who is signed up and wants to come all the way from texas, and she needs some classmates.  if you are AT ALL interested, but either the price or date does not work for you, PLEASE contact me!

the weekend is everything the regular click class is plus more.  we will cover shooting manually to post processing, and everything in between.  great food, great views and great photos!

please come??  maybe our neighborhood moose will pay us a visit.

it was time.  with the first two, we pretty much threw the binkies (or is it binky’s??) away right at age 2.  but since he’s my last, and i’m in HUGE denial, it took a little longer.  plus wade came home on trash day yesterday and the trash hadn’t come so wade asked him if we should throw the binky away since he’s a big boy.

i had a panic moment, i’m not gonna lie.

we didn’t talk about it, plan it, but it was kind of sprung on me….so i grabbed the camera and outside we went.  i mean, we are going to do this now??  with no planning?  do you realize that i am the one left alone to deal with the first nap without a binky??  what???

he was a champ, threw it in the can (notice the nice mid-air binky action i caught), and anxiously waited for the truck to come around the corner.  and like a big boy, waved goodbye with his little lip sticking out.  reminded me of just three years ago having tyson physically hand his binky to the trash man in new york.

cross our fingers….so far so good. this was our conversation lastnight after 15 minutes of crying at bedtime….

are you okay?  ok mama.

are you crying about your binky?  mmmhmmmm.

ginky peas mama?  no honey, your binky is in the trash truck.

reminded us of our time together last year in saint louis!

ps.  a little moose fact…they are so big and tall that they have to kneel down for their head’s to reach the shorter grass!  i’ll have to post some more pictures i got of “ivan” last week…
