hi!
these pages alway intimidate me. so much pressure to share something interesting. hmmm……
i like to take pictures.
i love my camera and capturing life. i picked up my first “real” camera about 15 years ago while living in paris (france, not texas) because my $30 point and shoot just wasn’t cutting it. i started learning to see life through my lens, and i couldn’t get enough. it was a hobby, then a passion, and now here i am…taking pictures “professionally”. i never have learned when it’s ok to call yourself a professional, but i guess that’s what i am….although there are a lot of people out there who know a whole heck of a lot more than i do about photography!
i closed my business doors in fall of 2008 as we moved our family from denver to rye, new york (just outside of nyc) for my husband’s job. i was reaching the point of burnout, so the move came at a great time for me as far as my camera was concerned. i was able to take our time in new york just for myself to document OUR lives and adventures and fall in love with my camera all over again. we were in new york for just over a year (i blogged about it at www.OurNYLife.blogspot.com) when my husband received a job offer back in denver that was too hard to refuse. so we up and moved back across the country on new year’s eve 2009 and moved to highlands ranch, had our third child, started kids in school…….
as of September 2010, i am officially back in business, and i’m so happy to be back. because of full-time mommyhood to my three kids, i am only booking two (maybe three if you can talk me into it) sessions a month. i want to make sure i don’t stretch myself too thin and i want to make sure this passion of mine stays a passion, not a job. please look at the “sessions” link in the menu to see what kind of sessions i am offering. after much thought, i have decided to not do weddings anymore as it is too much time away from my family. someday….
cheers!
kristen.
